NCCCO—the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators—and IAI— the International Assessment Institute—have announced that NCCCO has acquired IAI’s operations concerning to the testing services for CCO certification programs.
With the effect from August 1, 2015, responsibility for CCO candidate processing, score reporting, and test administration and other related services, have been assumed by a newly formed NCCCO subsidiary—NCCCO Services LLC.
All IAI personnel have agreed to join NCCCO’s new Testing Services Department headed by Marc Hone. Formerly Vice President of IAI, he has been appointed director of testing services for NCCCO. He is reporting to Joel Oliva, director of operations and programme development at NCCCO.
“The integration of CCO candidate processing into NCCCO’s operations is designed to create a greater cohesiveness that will result in internal efficiencies and enhanced services to NCCCO’s thousands of stakeholders,” said NCCCO’s Chief Executive Officer, Graham Brent. It also positioned NCCCO for future growth, he said. “Within the context of NCCCO’s 20th Anniversary, this acquisition marks an exciting new chapter in the organization’s further evolution as the leading industry provider of safety-related credentialing services.”
“NCCCO and IAI have worked together to ensure a seamless transition for both staff and stakeholders”, said NCCCO’s Oliva. “We have gone to great lengths to ensure no disruption of service either to certificants or employers, and all program development and maintenance will continue uninterrupted,” he further added.

It was formed by industry to develop and administer a nationwide program for the certification of crane operators and related personnel. Till date, the organization has administered more than 950,000 nationally accredited written and practical examinations and also issued 280,000 nationally accredited and OSHA-compliant certifications.
