JLG, an American manufacturer of access equipment, such as aerial work platforms and tele-handlers, has launched the ‘400SC crawler boom’ at the Matexpo exhibition in Belgium. This blog gives you the best insight into its features that have created a buzz in the industry.
The latest equipment is based on previous version named 400S—launched at Intermat in April. Primarily, 400SC is a telescopic boom lift with a crawler undercarriage, which lets users travel across all terrain. This crawler is designed to offer a working height of more than 14 m and a working outreach of approximately 11m with dual platform capacities of 270kg unrestricted or 450kg with restricted outreach.
As far as designed is concerned, the company has built it while keeping certain factors such as terrainability (ability to negotiate terrain irregularities), lift times and platform capacity in mind.
The American manufacturer has infused the crawler with other remarkable features including variable speed engine control that help reduce operation cost thereby ensuring fuel efficiency. Engineered with latest technology, it comes with 360-degree continuous slew. 400SC crawler boom offers quieter operations and available with Dura Tough covers.
“The 400SC is a great example of customer-oriented product development”, said Karel Huijser, general manager and vice president of JLG EMEA. “During the design stages of the 400SC, we worked closely with loyal distributors such as TVH Equipment in Belgium and Riwal in the Netherlands to understand what is required from a crawler boom. The traditional construction market and large infrastructure projects demand a product that provides outreach, extreme terrain capabilities and lift speed.”
