Crane Operator Manuals – Load Systems International
Sample from Crane Operator Manual
This crane operator manual describes the function, operation and maintenance of the PAT Hirschmann Maestro Load Moment Indicator (LMI).
The Hirschmann maestro has been designed to provide the crane operator with the essential information required to operate the machine within the design parameters specified by the manufacturer. The LMI provides the operator with information regarding the length and angle of the boom, wheel head height, working radius, rated load and the total weight being lifted by the crane.
The Hirschmann maestro system consists of a central microprocessor unit, a display and operator’s console, and various sensors for recording the measured values. The system operates on the principle of reference/real comparison. The real value, resulting from the load measurement, is com- pared with the reference data stored in the central processor memory and evaluated by the micro- processor. As soon as non-permitted operating conditions are approached, the HIRSCHMANN maestro LMI will warn the operator by sounding an audible alarm, lighting a warning light and switching off those movements that may aggravate or worsen the crane’s load condition.
