On Friday morning the 5th of Feb, a horrific accident of crane collapse in Manhattan killed a Harvard-trained mathematician David Wichs, and also injured other three people on the site. This accident occurred at 8.25 am on the Worth Street near Church Street when suddenly 600 foot tall construction crane felled down on the building pedestrians.
David Wichs 38 started his day like normal routine but unfortunately he became the victim of this giant size crane accident. The commanding court officer Lt. Jason O’ Connor said “I checked to see if there were any signs of life. There were none,”
After the accident more than 140 firefighters reached to the site, even many onlookers also jumped to save the life of people.
“When it landed it, was a big impact,” “There was a loud bang and the sound of alarms going off. Then everything got quiet. I saw the cars in half. I was in shock.” Said Nicholi White, 20 who was present on the site.
According to the city officials no complaints of building construction law violations came from the construction site. The Trucking Company who was operating the crane had declined to comment on this whole incident.
