Crane Inspection & Certification Bureau—shortened to CICB—has added National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) Mobile Lift Director within the range of its training programs. (These programs are provided to candidates who are preparing for National Certification Exams.)
This step, which is taken by the CICB, furthers its pledge to providing quality training and safety awareness in the rigging, lifting, and craning sectors. “Lift Directors have a crucial role in safe lifting operations,” said The President and CEO of CICB. He further added, “The new program will assure that Lift Directors have a thorough understanding of the technical aspects and personnel roles involved in all lifting operations.”
The CICB’s mobile crane lift director program
This lift director program took close to six months to develop. And this development schedule was under the team of technical experts, subject matter experts, NCCCO Certified Lift Directors, and other industry veterans.
What does this program cover?
The program includes all those rules and conventions that are required to govern the workaday crane operations; some of these standards are as follows:
- The latest OSHA Crane Rule
- ANSI/ASME standards
- Subpart CC
Many in the crane sector have ignored this key OSHA requirement that is for Lift Directors. (This OSHA convention came into effect from November 2010.)
