A Southern California Edison’s worker died in a crane accident in West Hollywood on Tuesday i.e. 22 March 2016 according to Los Angeles County sheriff’s officials. The incident happened around 4 p.m. when he was working in the 1200 block of La, Cienega Boulevard, between Fountain Avenue and Sunset Boulevard, said Lt. Vance Duffy of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.

According to Los Angeles Times report, the man was crushed between the trailer and crane. According to the officials, the victim was taken to a nearby hospital and where he was pronounced dead. His name was not released pending notification of his family. “It was a very unfortunate industrial accident,” Duffy said.

SoCal Edison confirmed that the victim was a contractor of the company. The contractors of Edison have been doing electrical work in connection with Sunset La Cienega, a massive Strip project that includes building 8 to 10 story hotel and residential towers. It is still unclear that what type of work the man was performing. The accident happened near a part of the Sunset Strip which has seen a construction and redevelopment boom in recent years.

The representatives from the state Division of Occupational Safety and Health were at the site. They are handling the investigation into the victim’s death, Duffy said.
