Trimble GS026 Wind Speed for Cranes

The Trimble GS026 wind speed for cranes sensor is a highly rugged, industrial grade, wind speed meter for use in outdoor applications requiring accuracy and reliability. This crane wind speed sensor is designed to work as a stand alone system by pairing with the GS320 wind speed display or can serve as a component of a full crane safety system with the GS550 crane RCI display.  The GS026 wind speed sensor for cranes is fully wireless with a communication range of over 4,000 feet so you can rest assured you will always have a signal when you need it. With an accuracy to 3 mph, and 4 years of battery life this crane wind speed meter is a plug and play unit.

Trimble GS026 Wind Speed for Cranes

The LSI Trimble GS026 wind speed sensor for cranes offers reliable indication for crane applications where wind speed monitoring is critically important. In the crane business, wind is a potentially deadly element in the day to day operating environment. This anemometer offers users a very effective and proven solution for monitoring wind speed. This crane wind speed sensor has an operating range of 4,000 feet or 1,300 m. You will appreciate the power behind this range when working in and around wind turbines. Wind turbines output a very strong RF signal, and our innovative technology has been perfected to work within this uncompromising environment. Our technology is also very successful when installed on long boom lattice cranes. While a 500 foot lattice boom often presents challenges for our competitors’ systems, this Trimble LSI system will easily communicate with the GS320 cab mounted display.  The GS026 wind speed sensor can be installed with the GS320, GS550, and GS820 displays.  A key installation tip is to ensure that the wind speed sensor is placed at the boom tip of the crane, and not the top of the crane cab. There is a vast difference of wind speed at 20’ off of the ground versus a boom tip that is 200’ off of the ground. There have been many avoidable accidents due to a cab-mounted wind speed sensors.

One of the major advantages of this wind speed sensor with two way radio communication is the management of battery life. When the crane display is turned off, the sensor stops active transmission. At that point, it simply listens for the display to say that it is back online. This process uses virtually no battery life. The LSI Trimble display also controls the radio power level of the LSI GS 026 wind speed sensor for cranes. The display will automatically increase or decrease the radio power on the wind speed sensor depending on the signal strength. This ensures effective communication at all times and optimizes battery life. The typical battery life of the this crane wind speed sensor is 4 years.
