settingsThe Trimble GS 550 system includes the cabin mounted GS550 radio display and compatible crane mounted GS and GC series sensors. The GS550 display creates a two-way radio network with the sensors to bring required lift data to the operator. Hoist load, boom and jib angles, boom length, wind speed and pending two-block can be detected and then indicated to the operator in real time. Working load radius can be calculated and compared to a rated capacity chart (if programmed). Furthermore the GS550 can be programmed to generate warnings, alarms and lockout commands, all triggered by adjustable thresholds and limits. All these events can be recorded by the data logger with a time and date stamp. The exact operational function of the GS 550 system depends on the sensor configuration used and the rated capacity charts programmed (where applicable). The Trimble GS550 includes a USB port to facilitate software and chart updates and data logger downloads using a USB mass storage device (USB key)
The Trimble GS550 display eliminates the cable breaks and costly installation fees of the past. Once the ground and power wires are connected this self-install unit is ready to monitor load, angle, length, anti two block, wind speed and a selection of other sensors up to 32 units. With its six inch long sunlight readable display, rest assured that viewing in all conditions, even with polarized sunglasses, will be unparalleled. The GS550 has full capability to trigger lockouts if your crane has them installed for added safety. Full load chart capability is realized with a simple software download via the USB port on the side of the unit. Additional safety features include an optional supervisor level access password and full datalogger capabilities monitoring up to 16,000 events.
